Location: Vancouver, BC

We have an immediate need for a Senior Hydrotechnical Engineer in our Water and Marine Group based in Vancouver.

The successful candidate will have solid experience in hydrotechnical engineering related to river and floodplain engineering, coastal engineering, hydraulic structures, hydropower, drainage, mine water management and erosion control.

Job Description:

This position will entail conducting investigations and developing engineering solutions for several types of projects: river engineering, flood and erosion management, buried pipeline protection, bridge hydraulics, channel improvements, sediment transport studies, stormwater management and drainage. The successful applicant will be involved in all phases of the project: business development, preparing proposals; client liaison; conducting investigations; report, detailed design and construction management. You will be part of a dynamic team of engineers and scientists engaged in a wide range of local and international hydrotechnical projects.

Qualifications:

· A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering

· Preferably a higher degree in a water resources engineering discipline

· Excellent spoken and written communication skills

· A minimum of 10 years relevant work experience

· Registration or eligibility for registration as a P.Eng. with APEGBC

· Experience with hydrological and hydraulic modelling software

· Capabilities in the design of hydrotechnical engineering works

· Experience in contract document preparation, construction management and inspection

· Excellent time management, project management and interpersonal skills

· Flexibility with regard to working hours and conditions

· A driver’s licence and availability for short duration travel

· Willing to travel to remote locations
